Welcome to the website of the Jürgen Kriwet Laboratory |
|
Jürgen Kriwet´s Lab focuses on the evolution of crown-group neoselachians and bony fishes. The overarching topic concerns almost all aspects of palaeobiology of predominantly marine fishes from all ages, such as comparative anatomy, taxonomy, phylogenetics and systematic, evolutionary trajectories, diversification patterns, and adaptive traits. Molecular (palaeo)biological approaches also are employed for analysing interrelationships, phylogeographic patterns and rates of evolution of organisms. Node ages are established using molecular clock approaches and improved fossil record analyses.
